Back in the Saddle
November 19, 2012Great to be playing with guns again like normal!
I'm back!
Had a little bout of stage 4 throat cancer. God and a hundred others fixed it.
Good to be alive and back in the saddle.…

April 13, 2012Friend John's brother goes to a local junkyard and shoots rats with a 12 gauge Fox Model B shotgun. The stock in places is wafer thin, and it eventually splintered in 5 places. The right barrel also wouldn't work. When I got it, a couple of receiver pins were not in place. When that happens, springs do crazy things to remaining parts. I was able to put it back together, and the reason the right barrel wouldn't work was due to a worn sear / hammer relationship. I could get a new …

April 2, 2012This weekend I installed a Moose Racing Expedition luggage rack on my KLR 650. This is the bike that our U.S. Marines use, but they are converted to diesel for them. These bikes eat Baha and suburban potholes and curbs. I repositioned my turn signals with a little splicing and heat shrink tubing, and raised my license plate a bit, also. March 30, 2012Never has a swine met a more happy end than to be poked by a .450 Bushmaster out of the slender fingers of Kate, our resident hunting babe and pig killer extrordinaire. The deadly omnivore met its end almost as fashionably as Kate the trigger-puller was dressed, and expired nearly immediately after the permanent cavity of a 250 grain Hornady FXT moving along at about 2200 FPS left him breathless. Being the caring, loving creature that Kate is, she quickly followed up with the coup de grace from her .44 magnum. She whipped out the 629 Mountain …

March 19, 2012
It was our 20th wedding anniversary last Saturday, and also Saint Patrick's day! The weather was a perfect sunny 80 degrees and My Shirley and Tinker and I headed out early to my sportsman's club to fish! The frogs were calling, and I tied a Scum Frog onto my 10 pound Fireline with a Palomar knot. If you don't know this knot, you need to, especially if you're using slippery braided line instead of monofilament. I don't even use a Trilene knot at all anymore. I lobbed the frog across and under countless lilly pads with …
