>Pelicans Ripped My Flesh

Steven K. Ledin, >Pelicans Ripped My Flesh

Our annual training classes started again with Binoculars 101 taught by Jne. Great class taught by a true expert. The next class is Riflescopes 101. I have to prepare some guns and vises and tools, and cases to carry it all in. I opened my downstairs closet to choose a few cases. Fred Flintstone must’ve packed it the last time, because when I opened it some Pelicans swooped out and attacked me. I have a couple of the superb Pelican 1750 gun cases that have been on different hunts in countries and continents. I rely on them when hard

>Jerry the Instructor’s New Rifle to Outfit

Steven K. Ledin, >Jerry the Instructor’s New Rifle to Outfit

Jerry and I have been friends for about 20 years. He is a quality human being and one of the nicest men that My Shirley and I have ever had the privelege to know. He is a fellow NRA certified instructor, and teaches basic pistolcraft for up to three students at a time several times a week at our local range. He’s also my hunting partner, and as a matter of fact, saw my current dog’s first point before I did. Radical Lee von Dundee loves Jerry. We’ve also slayed a lot of Canadas together.

Jerry has taken some time

>Red Dot or Scope for Browning Buckmark

Steven K. Ledin, >Red Dot or Scope for Browning Buckmark

A customer asked for advice in the forum the other day, and I thought it might help a few folks with the same quandry:

“Hi,

I am seeking advice as to what type of scope to mount on my .22 Browning Buckmark Contour. I will primarily be using it for both indoor and outdoor target shooting. The Buckmark has a 5” barrel and overall is 9.5” long. My budget is approx $200. I’ve read and have been advised that a 2X optical scope is good for my application. I’ve also read that a red-dot is good for .22s. My question

>400 Collectable Military Rifles

Steven K. Ledin, >400 Collectable Military Rifles

I went to my favorite gun shop the other day to say hi. They just took in 400 of the most desirable military long guns I have ever seen in one place at one time. Absolutely unbelievable. I’ve been in this business for decades and have never seen such a collection at once. Some of the most exciting included Beretta BM-59s, police Mini 14s, lots of Steyr Augs, including one with white furniture and matching bayonet, a widely varied selection of Belgium FALs, HK 94s, Galils, Daewoos, HK 91s, FNCs, Dragonovs, a Postal Meter M1 carbine, a Sig AMT, and

>Customer Ring and Base Questions

Steven K. Ledin,

I had a few pretty good questions posted by a customer the other day I thought I would share with you folks:

“I am the poster child of novice and I seek your sage advice for my situation or set up. Rifle: Remington model 700 sps, 7mm mag (almost positive it is long action, not an a bolt). Has 4 mounting screws. Scope: Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x40mm long range model 55275 30mm tube. Purchased thru Optics Planet (satisfied customer RE price and delivery of scope and the services-advice of this forum).

Now on to my newbie questions: With regard to scope-base …
